So with my season officially over with at the moment, I turn my attention to my two favorite sports teams…the University of Florida Gators and the Boston Red Sox.
With the SEC Tournament starting tomorrow, I am hoping for a repeat of last year’s end of the year run by UF. The Gators play the winner of Auburn/Georgia Friday night and I honestly like our chances against either team. While I think UGA is talented enough to be a threat, I think the inside game of the Gators will be the main advantage against either of those opponents.
Unfortunately, we are in the same bracket as Vanderbilt and, in my opinion, the Commodores pose the biggest match-up problem in the conference. I was really hoping we wouldn’t see them until the championship game potentially but oh well. I like the way the Gators played against Kentucky this past Sunday and I look forward to another run for championships this year!
As for my Red Sox, I feel pretty good about the team at this point in Spring Training. I like the acquisitions of Drew, Dice-K, and Lugo. And, although I know we don’t have a solution to the closer situation, I am hoping that someone either wins it out right early on in the season or we make a trade for an established guy at that position.
I think Drew will do well in Boston despite what some “experts” think. He has a laid back personality but that is not the same as being apathetic and not hustling. I think he’ll do fine and I think he’ll find the Monster to his liking.
I also like the addition of Lugo at shortstop. I know that he probably won’t come close to Agon defensively but he is head and shouders above him offensively. I think he’ll be a sparkplug at the top of the lineup.
As for Dice-K, what more is there to say about the man? There has been plenty of stuff written about him already and I have to admit that I am excited to see how he does once the regular season begins.

So, I haven’t posted in a while and I really should have…we defeated Chipley in the Regional Semifinals.
It was an exciting game as we came back from being down by 17 points to win 76-75! The fans and players were really pumped and I was just praising God for the victory and for the heart that the players displayed.
Unfortunately, we went to Jax to play Ribault High and, although we cut another 17 point lead down to 3, we were unable to come all the way back as we lost 81-71. It was a tough loss but I was extremely proud of our players for their determination and effort.
It was a special season this year and I am blessed to have the opportunity to coach such a wonderful group of young men. We went from having a 6-17 record last year to going 22-8 this season. We were also the District Champs and the Regional Runners-Up!
I already can not wait until next season!
Glad your feeling better after your operation.Take it easy.Enjoy makin your wife do things for ya =p.
Thanks. Who is “Wannabe”, by the way?
She doesn’t have to do much anymore but she was a huge help, that’s for sure!
